Arvensis is proud to announce our B-Frame BIOCOMPOSITE PCR plates have been certified with the ACT Label from My Green Lab. The ACT label is the world’s premier eco-label for laboratory products. By emphasizing Accountability, Consistency and Transparency (ACT) around manufacturing, energy and water use, packaging, and end-of-life, the ACT label makes it easier for labs to choose more sustainable products.
Arvensis B-Frame PCR plates are made with sustainably-sourced plant biomass, directly reducing the amount of petroleum-derived plastic used in the manufacturing process by up to 51%. The plate also weighs about 10% less than standard, petroleum-derived plastic plates. This means less fuel is needed to transport the plates from our manufacturing site to your laboratory, resulting in further reduction of our carbon footprint. The universal-style PCR plate features a rigid semi-skirt design with reaction wells made from virgin medical grade low-bind polypropylene for compatibility with a wide range of instruments.
“We are delighted that our B-Frame Biocomposite plates have been accredited with the ACT label, endorsing the sustainability of these PCR consumables,” said Paul Day, co-founder of Arvensis. “Historically, sustainable alternatives come with a price premium, so we are particularly proud to offer our customers an environmentally friendly alternative at no extra cost.”
Neal Holtzman, Commercial Director at Arvensis, added, “Our commitment to sustainability is fundamental to the business model at Arvensis. In partnering with My Green Lab, we have set new objectives for continuous improvement of our products as well as the basis for new product development that will further our aim of reducing plastic waste in the lab.”
